The route of this cycling tour passes through the central and northern part of our historical country including a number of architectural and natural monuments.
Three overnights are in the capital city of Armenia, the est overnights are in different towns of Armenia: in Stepanavan, in the green town of Dilijan, on the shores of Lake Sevan and in Yeghegnadzor known for its honey.
Armenia has 11 regions including the capital – Yerevan.
During this tour you will have the opportunity to see 8 of them.

DAY 1
Arrive at the airport. 
Meet and greet, transfer to the accommodation. 
Overnight: Yerevan
 
 
 
DAY 2
Yerevan • Amberd • Hovhannavank • Stepanavan
 
Depart for one of the impregnable fortresses of medieval Armenia. 
Continue cycling towards Amberd a fortress complex (7-13th cc.) with the walls, Vahramashen church (1026), the bathroom and other sections built on the rocky eminence on the slopes of Mt. Aragats at 2,300 meters above sea level.
 
 
 
 
Continue cycling and visit the monastery complexes of Hovhannavank (4-13th cc.) and Saghmosavank (13th c.) which are five kilometers apart and perch on the edge of the precipitous gorge of the Kasakh river. 
The most ancient structure in Hovhannavank is a basilica typical of the fifth century. 
 
 
 
 
Transfer to Stepanavan. 
 
 
Overnight.
 
DAY 3
Stepanavan • Dendropark • Odzun • Haghpat • Dilijan
 
Cycle to Dendropark Botanical Garden (35 hectare) that features a diversity of tree species brought from different regions of the world. It is also a place of rest, green and fresh, even during hottest times of summer. 
 
 
Continue cycling to Odzun village visiting the Church which is a rare example of a domed basilica built at the end of the 6th century. 
 
 
The road takes us to the medieval Armenian monastery complex of Haghpat (976 AD) inscribed in UNESCO world heritage list. 
 
 
Drive to fabulous forested resort town of Dilijan.
 
 
DAY 4
Dilijan • Makaravank • Haghartsin • Sevan
 
Transfer to Ijevan and start cycling towards Makaravank (10-13th cc.) medieval architectural church complex situated on the forested slopes of the Bazum mountain ridge. 
 
 
 
Continue cycling and visit Haghartsin monastery (10-14th cc.) is nestled in a temperate rainforest on a mountainside. It is one of those spots in Armenia that feels like you are walking through a huge, unreal movie set. 
 
 
 
Drive towards the lake Sevan the largest lake in Armenia and the Caucasus region. 
It is also one of the largest fresh-water high-altitude lakes in the world. 
This huge mountain lake is situated at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level.
 
 
DAY 5
Sevanavank • Hayravank • Noratus • Selim Pass • Yeghegnadzor
 
Visit Sevanavank 9th c. (Sevan monastery) located in the peninsula which used to be an island before.
Note that the track leading to the monastery consists of 220 stairs. 
 
 
Drive to Hayravank monastery complex (9-12th cc.) surrounded by numerous khachkars and gravestones that are part of a small cemetery located on Lake Sevan’s shore. 
 
 
Start cycling across Lake Sevan and visit Noratus Cemetery a medieval cemetery
with a large number of early khachkars (cross-stones) dating back to 10th century. 
 
 
Cycle through the Selim Pass (2410m) and visit the Caravanserai built in 1332, by Prince Chesar Orbelian.
It used to be an important trade point on the famous Silk Road in order to accommodate weary travelers and their animals as they crossed from, or into, the Selim Mountains. 
 
 
 
Cycling to Yeghegnadzor.
 
 
DAY 6
Yeghegnadzor • Noravank • Areni • Khor Virap • Yerevan
 
Start cycling towards Noravank 13th c. (means “New Monastery”) a masterpiece of Armenian architecture which is situated in a narrow gorge and encircled by tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs highlighting spectacular nature of Vayots Dzor province. 
 
 
Proceed and visit Areni wine factory to taste local wine made from the sort of Areni grape.
It is famous for its various kinds of Areni wines. 
 
 
 
Continue cycling tour to historical KhorVirap monastery (4- 17th cc.). 
Take the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful view to the biblical Ararat Mountain, were Noah’s arch cast anchor. 
 
 
Drive back to Yerevan.
 
DAY 7
Yerevan city tour • Matenadaran • Echmiadzin • Zvartnots • Yerevan
 
Start tour in the capital of Armenia and explore the important sightseeing places of 2794 years old Yerevan city including Food Market where we can taste and buy home-made dried fruit and fresh vegetables. 
 
 
 
Visit the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts – Matenadaran the state repository that holds one of the world’s richest depositories of medieval manuscripts and books.
Depart for the spiritual and administrative headquarters of the worldwide Armenian Church. 
 
 
 
Visit the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin (302-303 AD) the oldest statebuilt church in the world and the seat of the Catholicos. 
 
 
Return to Yerevan and stopover for Zvartnots temple (means “celestial angels”) 7th century wonderful architectural masterpiece. 
The remnants of Zvartnots, even in ruins, are a majestic sight. 
These sights are listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
 
 
DAY 8
Departure. Transfer to the airport.
